Deciding what is urgent

Not every item on a repair list needs to be done today. Asking the shop to sort the list helps you budget without taking safety risks.

Safety first

Brakes, tires, steering, suspension parts and anything causing a fluid leak near hot parts should be handled right away.

Prevent bigger damage

Some repairs stop a small problem from becoming an expensive one, such as fixing a coolant leak before the engine overheats.

Can wait

Items like worn wiper blades, minor oil seepage or cosmetic issues can often be scheduled later. Ask the technician to explain the risk of waiting for each item.
